Program and took additional dance courses through their Community Division.  She
earned a certificate in Dance Performance and Pedagogy from the school, which features
an intensive program with an emphasis on ballet, modern, improv, and choreography.
She also studied pointe, jazz and tap. Outside of school, in the thriving Greater Hartford
Swing dance scene, she studied
swing dance as a 'Swing Monkey',  learning and
eventually teaching and performing East Coast Swing and Lindy Hop.
While in Hartford, she performed through the Conservatory's Diploma and Community
divisions at various recitals and performances. Her dual dance internships included  study
and performances with
Footnotes Dance Theatre Company and The Stafford Ballet, with
whom she danced several solos on pointe in their 2003  production of 'The Nutcracker'.
In December 2005, Heather appeared as a maid in Act I of 'The Nutcracker', presented
by
Ballet Hawaii at The Blaisdell Theatre.

Heather gave her first performance of hula in Hartford, CT in March, 2006.
She returned to CT for 'The Annual Women Composers Concert', which featured 'Aloha

had been specifically set for her and for this performance by her kumu, at Windward
Community College, Oahu.
While in Hartford, Heather offered a presentation and class on hula and Hawaiian culture
to the dance students of The Hartford Conservatory's Diploma Program.  She strives to
bring an appreciation of Hawaiian music, culture, and dance to people in CT and looks
forward to a continued exchange next March.

Tahitian Dance
by appearing with Mehetia Productions in a recent fund-raising event.
