About the Chorus

We are a SATB Festival Chorus. We usually begin rehearsing in January
and disband after our March festival; we exist to present choral music at
the festival. This is a volunteer chorus with paid section leaders. We
rehearse mostly in small sections and individually. We sometimes present
readings of works when performance levels cannot be achieved with the
belief that the process of sharing and learning music has great value. We
sing in many languages and styles and have great fun!  Our recordings
capture history, help composers, and make the music available for study.

Not all chorus members will sing in every choral piece presented
throughout the festival.  Chorus members enjoy the flexibility of singing
on a piece-by-piece basis, according to their availability for attending each
concert and according to their general availability for rehearsals, their
comfort level with the music, their personal interests, and their reading
ability.  One may opt to sing in only one piece and still be considered a
valuable member of the chorus; we welcome whatever level of
participation you can offer.

High level and devoted singers may wish to audition for the Concert Pro
Femina Chorus, which offers a second outlet for choral participation
within the festival.

Raise your voice and join us in our mission
to discover and spread women's music!
