New Score Available from Heather House Press $3- suggested donation (5 page score) "The Patriotic Family" is a short and easy, homophonic SATB choral anthem with piano accompaniment. The original music and lyrics, by Heather Seaton, express a patriotic spirit, a call for prayers- for the protection of our service people and their families, and a hope that everyone may one day live in peace and equality. All profits from the sales of these scores shall be given to organizations which serve our country's veterans and their families. The score is currently available in Bb and C major. Additional acoustic instruments may be added to the introduction section, which features a soprano solo, and the final four measures. (The piece has been performed to great affect with autoharp, bass, flute, and tin whistle in C- either doubling the melody or adding harmony to the piano part. Chord symbols included). A hymn version for Congregational singing will soon be available. Composers Notes: This piece was composed in November 2007, as a reaction to my husband's deployment. This music, and performances of it, are dedicated to my husband, Scot, our fellow military families, and all veterans. My dream is for this piece to carry the American spirit across our country. I wish that a recording of this music could reach our troops abroad and offer them some support. I hope that this music may honor and serve our country's veterans, who have given us so much.
